The American Kennel Club Tracking Regulations states: “Tracking, by nature, is a vigorous, noncompetitive outdoor sport. Tracking tests demonstrate the willingness and enjoyment of the dog in its work, and should always represent the best in sportsmanship and camaraderie by the people involved.”

Please forgive us ... much of Wisconsin's popularity is due to its natural beauty - two Great Lakes, the famous Mississippi River and extensive forests and lakes. For those of us who live and track in this land of four magical seasons, cheese production and as stated by many as the dairy capital of the world we are constantly reminded that cows and their by-products help give us the farmland to track on and the parks and universities for our tests.

So if when we discuss tracking in Wisconsin, we occasionally drop in a moo or two, just smile and continue reading the information on the sport we are supporting. Drop in on one of our meetings or events and see for yourself some of the interesting and mooving awards and gifts we have come across to make us smile.

Wisconsin has many canine enthusists. The one thing lacking had been a tracking club based in Wisconsin for those people who enjoy the sport of tracking. In 2001 several like-minded individuals from varying backgrounds came together and brainstormed the formation of The Tracking Club of Wisconsin (affectionally known as TCoW - how could we resist that name when we live in the Dairy State? Since that time we have completed the requirements with the American Kennel Club to become recognized as one of only a handful of Licensed Tracking Clubs nationwide.

TCoW serves as an educational source as well as a tracking resource for the state. Many local trackers know that until the formation of TCoW the closest tracking clubs were either in Illinois or Minnesota.

TCoW offers TD, TDX and VST tracking tests, tracking classes, workshops and seminars across the state.

So whether you are a Wisconsin resident or from one of our surrounding areas we welcome you to become a member and revel in the fun, enjoyment and responsibility of supporting a club based in our state.
