    Some of the workshops we host annually include:
    • Track Laying
      An Introduction to Track Laying
      A novice workshop developed to turn trackers into track layers. Many of the features of this workshop are contained in the TCoWTM training booklet Track Laying 101 (Pawmark Press 2003) which is available at the TCoWTMStore. Attendees are introduced to measuring their stride, utilizing landmarks, basics of track laying, plotting a track and map making,

    • Beginning Tracking
      An Introduction to Tracking (TD)
      Introduction level workshop developed to introduce dogs and handlers to tracking. This is a hands-on working seminar limited to a set number of working participants. Each dog will be started and evaluated on training tracks during the workshop.

      Many of the features of this workshop are contained in the TCoWTM training booklet Novice Nosework (Pawmark Press 2005) which is available at the TCoWTMStore.Developed for novice to advanced level trackers to provide an introductory knowledge of tracking. This workshop is suitable for beginners or experienced trackers. Dogs will be introduced to starts, restarts, article indication and will work on tracks with straight legs, corners, multiple articles and serpentines. Handlers will be introduced to line handling, developing basic routines and communicating with your dog.

    • Advanced Tracking
      An Introduction to Advanced TDX Tracking
      Advanced level workshop developed for problem solving techniques, evaluation of advanced level dogs and developing individual solutions for teams ready for or already entering tracking dog excellent (TDX) tests. Each dog will be worked and evaluated on tracks designed to work on specific TDX problem areas such as starts, transitions, road crossings, woods, ditches, and scenting obstacles.

    • Urban Search Techniques and Theory
      An Introduction to Urban Tracking (VST)
      Introduction level workshop developed to introduce dogs and handlers to working on variable surfaces in an urban environment such as a business park, college or university. This is a hands-on working seminar limited to a set number of working participants. Each dog will be worked and evaluated on urban tracks during the workshop. Previous experience in urban tracking is not required.

    • Applying Advanced Urban Search Techniques
      Individual Instruction & Component Solutions for Variable Surface Tracking
      Advanced level workshop developed for problem solving techniques, evaluation of advanced level dogs and developing individual solutions for teams ready for or already entering variable surface tracking tests. Each dog will be worked and evaluated on individually developed urban tracks designed to work on specific problem areas. Previous experience in urban tracking is required.
    Many of out training workshops are based on the concept of component trainingTM as explained in Ed Presnall's book Mastering Variable Surface Tracking: The Component Training Approach. This book is available through Dogwise or Pawmark
